Specialist support for arthritis and mobility challenges

Arthritis and Mobility Care at Home with Your Care Solutions

Arthritis is one of the most common conditions affecting older people in the UK, with over 10 million people living with some form of the condition. Whether it is osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or another type, joint pain and reduced mobility can make everyday tasks feel difficult and at times daunting. At Your Care Solutions, we provide specialist support that helps you manage daily life with greater comfort, confidence, and independence in your own home.

Understanding arthritis and its impact

Arthritis causes pain, stiffness, and swelling in one or more joints, and can affect the hands, knees, hips, and spine. On difficult days, tasks that were once straightforward – getting dressed, preparing a meal, or moving around the home – can become real challenges. We understand the unpredictable nature of arthritis and provide support that adjusts to how you are feeling.Support with dressing, grooming, and personal hygieneHelp with meal preparation and household tasksAssistance moving around the home safely

Keeping you safe and mobile at home

Falls are a significant concern for people living with arthritis, particularly when pain and stiffness affect balance and confidence. Our care workers are trained in supporting safe movement and transfers, helping to reduce the risk of falls while encouraging as much independent movement as possible. We also work with occupational therapists and physiotherapists to ensure our support complements any rehabilitation or equipment that has been recommended.

Practical support on good days and bad

Arthritis often has good days and bad days, with flare-ups making even simple tasks much harder. Our flexible care service is designed to adapt to how you are feeling – providing more hands-on support during difficult periods and stepping back when you are managing well. We believe in enabling independence, not creating dependency.

Specialist trained care workers

Our care workers receive training in supporting people with musculoskeletal conditions, including an understanding of pain management, moving and positioning, and the emotional impact of living with a long-term condition. They approach every visit with patience and sensitivity, working at your pace and respecting your preferences at all times.

Helping you stay active and connected

Staying active – even gently – is one of the most important things people with arthritis can do to manage their condition. Our care workers can support you to get out for a gentle walk, attend exercise classes, or take part in activities that keep you engaged and connected to your community. We also provide companionship and conversation during visits, which can make a real difference to mental wellbeing.

Supporting your family too

Living with a progressive condition like arthritis can be worrying not just for the individual but for their family too. Our service provides regular updates and involves family members in care planning, giving everyone peace of mind that the right support is in place. We also offer respite cover so that family carers can take breaks when needed.
